Our
Story
Our mission is to subsidize low cost spay and neuter services to help alleviate the over population of animals in our shelters, funding local clinics for local area mobile vehicles, and, of course, help owners keep their pets happy and healthy.
In addition, we help owners keep their pets by supplying funds, if necessary, for other vet services though our Huey Fund, as well as supplying pet food to help owners that may need some assistance.

Janeen Bahr
Growing up with a deep love for animals, I always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but the high cost of veterinary school and the lack of knowledge about available scholarships made this dream seem unattainable. Despite these challenges, I channeled my passion into a decade-long journey of building and working with a rescue organization, dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services.
During this time, I recognized a significant need for more accessible brick-and-mortar veterinary facilities offering affordable care. This realization has driven my continued commitment to improving veterinary services and making them accessible to all, ensuring that pets and their owners receive the support they need.
Katie Phillipsen
I have always had dogs. I rescued my first dog a age of 12. I can't imagine life without them!
I got into the dog show world with Alaskan Malamutes and did very well, even winning Best of Opposite at Westminster Dog Show in 2003. After that period, I became an active volunteer at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, for which I am still a foster and groomer for them.
I became involved in rescue after meeting Janeen Bahr. It's now been 10 years working with her, saving hundreds of needy, homeless, and abandoned dogs. This is the most rewarding work I have ever done and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
Kenny
Hi, I'm Kenny Pineo, and I live in Reno, Nevada. I work as the Food and Beverage Manager at Montreux Country Club, but my true passion has always been dogs.
I've been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have had the opportunity to care for many of them through pet sitting for families at the club and families when I lived in San Diego. I've also volunteered at several spay and neuter clinics, where I've seen firsthand the difference that compassionate people can make in the lives of animals.
When I'm not working or spending time with dogs, you'll usually find me on the golf course, camping, or enjoying the outdoors. Rottweilers have always been my favorite breed, but I genuinely love dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities.
Being part of an animal rescue organization is incredibly meaningful to me because I believe every dog deserves a loving home, a second chance, and people who will advocate for them. I'm grateful to be able to contribute to a mission that helps improve the lives of so many amazing animals.
